January 19th
April 12th
June 14th
September 20th
October 18th
Boy Scouts are limited to 65 with 15 additional non-Boy Scouts. So I expect around 80 total kids to fly.
Schedule:
0800 Start time for setup
0930 Pilot Briefing
1000 Start flying Young Eagles if we are ready
1300 If we have run out of Young Eagles to fly we will make a last sweep through the museum to pick up stragglers and if no one else we will pack up early!
1600 We will start packing up as much as possible if we are still flying kids
1700 Hard stop, everything back at base-ops. If there are still kids to fly they will need to sign-up for the next event.
Highlights:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-- We need pilots
-- We need more volunteers
-- The parents need to sign up for free Museum access.
-- We need Young Eagles. They need to sign up online to avoid registration delays
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pilots.
The following requirements are necessary for ALL pilots who wish to participate in the Young Eagles Program:
Current National EAA member
Airman's certificate
Current Biennial Flight Review
Current Medical certificate
Currency in the aircraft used
Aircraft liability insurance
Each pilot must have aircraft passenger seat liability insurance. For those EAA members who choose to insure at a level of $100,000 per passenger seat, EAA will automatically provide an additional $1,000,000 liability umbrella policy. This coverage is only in effect while participating in Young Eagle Flights. Pilots who choose to insure at lower levels may still participate, however the additional insurance will not apply. Some confusion has surfaced because of EAA's supplemental $1 million blanket liability policy. Simply stated, if a pilot carries liability insurance they can participate in the Young Eagles Program. If a pilot has $100,000 per seat or more in coverage, EAA has an additional $1 million blanket policy that will supplement their insurance.
You must be a member of EAA national to fly young eagles. If you are not currently a member and would like to become a member of EAA national please contact Cliff Carpenter 30 days or more prior to the event so we can process the paperwork. Special arrangements can be made for Young Eagle Pilots.
If you have a certificated aircraft please provide a copy of the above information to Dave Prizio for Boy Scout verification. Dave can be reached at dave@prizio.com.
Please sign up online.
Call Cliff (714-850-2854) or Vince (951-201-3730) if you need assistance.
Pilots: To expedite operations, we will be providing flight path & pilot
briefing info Saturday at 9:30am. The goal is to start flying as soon
as possible.
Volunteers: Let's sign in online - it helps alleviate our number one
question: "Who's going to be there?" We definitely want to hit the
ground running on Saturday. Start time for volunteers will be 8:00am at Chino base-ops to move the tents, BBQ, etc. over to Planes-Of-Fame air museum. Also, let's try to review procedures before 9:00am - it is one less variable during the day.
Let's all check in, and let's make the first 2008 Young Eagle event the best one yet!

| Saturday, June 14th EAA 92 Young Eagles event, Chino Airport | 12:22 PM, Fri May 30, 2008 |
|
The next event is Saturday June 14th, 10:00am Chino Airport.
We NEED more ground crew and one or two additional pilots. Some great news is that Gary Felker's daughter is getting married! (Hethr, not Brittany), the bad news for us is that the wedding is June 14th and flying Young Eagles for the father of the bride is not part of the ceremony. Having two additional pilots would help lighten the load on Don Myhra and Michael Stearns (Thanks guys).
We really need the ground crew to make things happen. I don't anticipate Mike Sawicki or Connie at this event. I saw Mike at the Planes of Fame airshow and he is looking really good after his heart attack and 5 way bypass but we don't want to push his recovery. I need someone to take over the food portion of the event and at least 4 support people there. We need one load master for each pilot so at least 4 for that job. We need someone to print certificates and at least one person as go between for certificates and load masters so 2 people there. Finally we need 2 people to run the registration desk. This totals to 13 ground crew excluding pilots. We only have 2 ground crew signed up right now Help!
*** Note: There is a new form that MUST be used for Young Eagles. Online forms printed from the web site can no longer be accepted due to new rules. Photocopies must be on both sides of a single piece of paper with an original parent/guardian signature. If the parent/guardian cannot come to the event to sign the form then email me and I will try to mail a copy to them.

| Sat April 15th 2006 Eaa 92 Young Eagles Event -We are a GO for Saturday!! | 09:01 AM, Fri Apr 14, 2006 |
|
Checking the Weather Channel this morning shows that the thunderstorms that will be passing through the area today (Friday April 14th) will be gone by Saturday morning along with their rain. Ground Crew, let's be ready to start at 08:00am. There is construction on the field in the area we usually operate from so the loading of kids will occur west of where we usually do it between Base-Ops and the museum. We can also setup the food service at base-ops as well as certificate printing (closer to setup and put away). We will need more ground crew this time because we will be escorting groups of kids from the museum to base-ops and back. This also allows them to go through the Jet section of the museum behind Base-Ops.
Remember, if you are coming from the 91 to the 71 you cannot use Euclid to get to the airport. You will need to detour to Central avenue., turn right and go to El Prado rd turn right again, turn left at the first light on Kimbal rd and go all the way up to Euclid where you turn left again. The rest of the trip is the same as before.

| YE Rally on Sat, June 13th a HUGE SUCCESS!!! | 08:36 PM, Mon Jun 15, 2009 |
|
Thank you to the wonderful volunteers and dedicated pilots that participated in the second 2009 EAA Chapter 92 Young Eagles Rally held at Cal Aero Aviation Country Club hangars at Chino Airport. What a day: 13 pilots, 16 volunteers and 51 Young Eagles flown.
The weather cooperated very nicely and the event was finished by 2PM. Plans are already underway for the next event being held at Yanks Museum on Saturday, September 12th. More information to follow in the coming months before the event.
Best Regards, Penelope Hecker |
| WOW - What a Young Eagles Rally at Yanks Air Museum | 08:28 PM, Mon Sep 21, 2009 |
|
The third 2009 EAA Chapter 92 Young Eagles (YE) Rally was held for the first time at Yanks Air Museum and was a huge SUCCESS!!!! 96 YE's flown, 20 airplanes, 1 helicopter, 17 wonderful volunteers and the much appreciated museum staff. The Yanks Air Musuem was a wonderful choice to host YE and quite a day.
Starting with the museum tour in the right hangar wing with pistons and then moving to the video. Then on to the left hangar wing were the gound school was mixed in with the jets.
Outside to the ramp for flights, food and the "Commando Jump" commandered by George Banonkovich and several museum staff members. Registration was was handled by the Ninety-Nine's and the ground school had plenty of pilots to share information and help with the learning.
The weather was all blue skies and mild temperatures. The Load Masters had their hands full with all the airplanes, but not a Young Eagle was left behind.
A very big "THANK YOU" to the Yanks Air Museum and staff, EAA Chapter 92 pilots and volunteers, OCPA pilots and the Ninety-Nines pilots and volunteers, without YOU this event would not be possible.
SHARING THE PASSION FOR AVIATION WITH THE FUTURE!

The next event is Saturday April 12th, 10:00am Chino Airport.
Several of our 'usual suspect ' ground crew are unavailable that weekend so we need additional EAA members to volunteer. It is a great chance to share in the excitement as young people discover the wonder of flight!

The next Young Eagles event is scheduled for Saturday April 9th 2005! The other dates for the year will be Jun 11th, Sep 10th and Nov 12th.
We are planning to limit the number of young eagles this year so that we can concentrate on quality. This is a chance to get kids excited about something other than video games, not a carnival ride to push the maximum number of bodys through.
Let's all have fun this year! |

| Air Tour rule changes | 07:11 AM, Thu Feb 22, 2007 |
|
We are aware of recent FAA Rule changes that take effect March 15th. Currently EAA is working with the FAA to obtain changes to these rules so that our Young Eagles program can continue. If the EAA has not been successful in obtaining these changes by April 4th we will cancel the April 14th event. Until then we will proceed as if we are a go for April 14th. We plan on treating each of our planned events for this year the same way until we receive a final decision from the FAA.
Please check back on this web site for updates as we get closer to April 14th.

| April 9th update | 03:37 AM, Sun Apr 09, 2006 |
|
The Saturday, April 15th event is less than a week away. Although it looks like we will not be picking up as many kids from the Junior High School as anticipated the B-17 tour has sparked a lot of interest in our event at Chino. Since people have not been using the web site it is hard to predict the numbers but it looks like we will end up with between 40 to 60 kids to fly.
Ground crew volunteers, Please sign up at the web site (YE.PACSTATES.COM) so that I know you are coming. If you are having trouble Call Cliff (714-850-2854) or Vince (951-201-3730) if you need assistance. Remember, we are meeting at 08:00am to setup the tents, etc.

Let's all check in, and let's make the second 2007 Young Eagle event the
best one yet!

| 2010 First Young Eagles Rally - the Year is starting off GREAT! | 01:08 PM, Fri Mar 26, 2010 |
|
The first EAA Chapter 92 Young Eagles Rally was held on Saturday, March 20th at Planes of Fame Air Museum and Cal Aero Country Club/Academy hangars at the base of the Chino (KCNO) tower. The weather was perfect and flights got off the ground at 11:00 AM.
There were 60 YE's flown with 15 pilots/airplanes and 25 volunteers attending to registration, ground school, ground crew, load masters and BBQ experts that served 168 hot dog lunches. There was lots of water for all!
A great big "THANK YOU" to the following for making the day possible:
Planes of Fame Air Museum staff and volunteers
Cal Aero Country Club/Academy - Legacy Aviation and the Whittlesey family
PILOTS:
Bryan Metz, Cliff Carpenter, Dave Grupenhagen, Dave Prizio, Ed Martell, Garry Felker, James Kirk, Joe Finnell, Lisa Walker, Mark Volk, Ray Hecker, Bob Cashman, Robert Lange, Jay Steffenhagen, Richard Eastman
VOLUNTEERS:
Robert Baker, Sharon Baker, Amelia Lowry, Bev Finnell, Bob Dougherty, Bob Zaha, Brittany Silva, Chuck Gifford, Darren Carr, Jim Randall, Karen Thompson, Larry Severson, Roland Koluvek, Terry Dowell, Ernie Julian, Tommy Elliott, Dale Martin, Vince Orton, Jennifer Adam, Louis, Colleen Handrahan
Without all of the WONDERFUL pilots and volunteers, the day would not be as successful or as much fun. The parents, guests and Ye's all had a super day and there was probably a few sun burns, but a smile on everyone's face.
THANK YOU all for "Sharing the Passion for Aviation with the Future" |
